EARLIER STORY:
A Greenacres elementary school is without power Thursday morning, prompting officials to tell students to stay home until power is restored.
Just before 7:30 a.m., Greenacres Fire Rescue was called to Diamond View Elementary School located at 5300 South Haverhill Rd. for a possible fire.
The school district is asking students who come to school by car or walk to stay home until the power is restored.
Classes at the school are not canceled but delayed.
Greenacres Fire Chief Mark Pure said there was an electrical short that occurred and have now turned over the issue to school maintenance.
