PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — It’s history in the making. Thousands are expected to head to the FITTEAM Ballpark of The Palm Beaches for a watch party for day three of the World Series between the Nationals and the Astros. A win by either team is not only an economic boost for the county but it also boosts cred.

Gates open at 7 p.m. And an estimated 3,500 people will fill the stands for the 8:07 p.m. big event.

Matt Slatus, general manager for the FITTEAM Ballpark of The Palm Beaches says it’s history in the making having two teams who practice at the same ballpark together in the World Series. The team's spring training alone brought $70-million into the county during the 2019 season. That number is expected to increase in 2020.

As for tonight’s predictions, the Nationals have won both first games of the World Series and sports analysts say almost 90-percent of the time teams that win the first two games on the road go on to win it. But some aren’t yet swayed. And others are just satisfied with the uncanny matchup.

”So you start the season with 30 teams. All have the same chance theoretically to play in the World Series - to have one in 30 would be incredible,” said Slatus. “But to have two in 30 is unprecedented. We know it has never happened before and it very well will not happen again. so we need to embrace this. our county needs to embrace it.”
