An 8-year-old Lake Worth girl wrote a letter to a burglar who ransacked her home and stole a number of things.
Tuesday night, she read the letter to commissioners.
Wendy Chay Son and her family had only been living in their home for a few days before the break in.
Wendy wrote the letter so the thieves could change and not do it again.
The Genesis Neighborhood Association presented the family with a check for 44 hundred dollars, money raised from a GoFundMe account.
Wendy's father only agreed to take 35 hundred dollars and asked the neighborhood association to give the balance to another family in need.
