LAKE WORTH, Fla. -- A car reported as stolen crashed into a house early Monday morning in Lake Worth.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) says a burglar stole a car in Lake Osborne Estates just before 5 a.m. and took the vehicle on a joy ride.
People living in the neighborhood said the driver of the stolen car sped past a second car, side-swiped it, and lost control crashing into the home.
PBSO says the suspect fled the scene and is still on the loose.
No one was in the home in the crash, according Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue. The homeowner’s sister said there is no visible damage inside the home.
After a tow truck removed the car, it appeared most of the damage was to the front porch.
