Candlelight vigil to remember murdered student

As Palm Beach County Sheriff's investigators spent Wednesday night looking for the man who killed Wellington David Glinton Jr, friends and family remembered the 19-year-old college student.

"All I can say is he was a good kid. A kid who was making something of himself in college. And I don't know why this happened," cousin Valencia Boone said.

Friends say Glinton was killed by a robber in suburban Lake Worth just before midnight on Dec. 22.

They say he chased the man out of a friend's home when he was shot.

Investigators released a sketch of the man they believe murdered the college student in an apartment complex in the 2200 block of Shimmery Ln.

Family members say Glinton was in his first year at Missouri Valley College.   The school's website lists him as freshman basketball player on the junior varsity team.

He was attending the school on a scholarship and wanted to be an architect.

"He was very bright. Very good basketball player. I would tell him keep your head up. Do what you do and you will get somewhere one day," friend Felicia Jackson said.

If you recognize the person in the sketch, call Crimestoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
