A family is asking for the public's help solving the recent killing of a 33-year-old woman.

It's been more than a month since a masked intruder shot and killed Makeva Jenkins of Lake Worth in her home.

The Jenkins' family attended a Wednesday morning news conference in hopes of sparking additional tips about her death.

"Her life shouldn't have been cut that short especially with her kids; she's been taken away from us she's been taken away from her children so again I'm asking the public and community if you know of anything that might lead to an arrest that's all we're asking, said grandmother Gloria Harold.

Jenkins was killed June 29.

Before her death, she posted on Facebook about her recent success after being homeless in 2013 and 2014 to starting her own business and making a six-figure salary. At the news conference, her grandmother said otherwise.

"She came from living from paycheck to paycheck and wanted this to happen to everyone," she said. "She wanted the public to know that if she could come from one point to the next point, she knew that everyone else could do it also."

Jenkins was talking to people up until 12:30 a.m. A masked suspect knocked at her home on Plumbago Place at 2 a.m. and shot her. Palm Beach County Sheriff's detectives do not believe the Facebook post that Jenkins published led to her death.

The suspect got away in one of the family-owned cars, but that car was later recovered. It was found in the area of Lawrence Road across from Santaluces High School.

None of the leads in the investigation has led to an arrest. People with information are urged to call Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers, (800) 458-TIPS.

"We didn't have a whole lot of money coming up, but if I had money, I would offer the biggest reward I possibly had to help us come to some kind of closure in this case," said Harold.
