LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. — A burglary to a Lake Worth Beach business resulted in a shooting Wednesday morning, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies were called to a shooting at the Lighthouse Smoke & Vape Shop on South Dixie Highway just after 4 a.m.
When they arrived, they found a burglary suspect suffering from a gunshot wound or wounds.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Teri Barbera said detectives learned that the suspect threw a rock through the store window, which sounded the burglar alarm and notified the business owner.
Barbera said the owner arrived and confronted the suspect, leading to the shooting.
The suspect was taken to a hospital in stable condition. He was expected to survive.
Barbera said the suspect faces charges related to the burglary.
