LAKE WORTH, Fla.- The streets of downtown Lake Worth are being transformed into a giant canvas.

Asphalt is their canvas. Colorful chalk their tool.

More than 600 artists are creating chalk paintings for the 22nd Annual Street Painting Festival across from the city hall annex.
Artists say using chalk to make paintings is easy to learn.

“I think because anyone can do it, if you're an amazing, talented internationally known artist, or you're someone like us that enjoys coming out and getting your hands dirty, anyone can do it,” said Melissa Howard, who was using chalk to draw a three dimensional Hungry Hippos game.

There are also vendors and plenty of food at the two-day festival.

It will open again tomorrow at 10 a.m.

Admission is free.
