The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Lantana man in connection with a fatal shooting July 31 outside a Kwik Stop convenience store.
The homicide occurred at 1202 6th Ave. S, resulting in the death of 30-year-old Francis J. Daly.
Marquis Lanard Valentine, 27, of Lantana was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail just after midnight Thursday.
Valentine is charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The arrest report says Valentine was released from prison in July 2015.
Surveillance video helped detectives identify Valentine, which PBSO said showed him and the victim in line at the Kwik Stop prior to the shooting.
PBSO said video showed the suspect shooting Daly once in the chest while the victim's hands were raised and they were standing face-to-face.
Valentine refused to make a first appearance during a Friday morning court hearing and was denied bond.
