Suspect arrested after 18-year-old woman sexually assaulted by home intruder in Lake Worth Beach

UPDATE: According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, a suspect accused of breaking into an apartment in Lake Worth Beach and sexually assaulting a woman has been arrested.

Wolfey Brice, 33, is being charged with sexual battery and burglary with battery.

A judge denied bond during a Wednesday morning court hearing.

EARLIER STORY:

Palm Beach County deputies are searching for a man who broke into an apartment in Lake Worth Beach over the weekend and sexually assaulted an 18-year-old woman.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, the attacker got into an apartment in the 1000 block of North F Street on Sunday around 5 a.m. by opening an unlocked back door.

Once he got inside the apartment, family members said he sexually assaulted the 18-year-old victim in a bedroom, while her 6-year-old brother was also in the room.

The victim's sister ran in and confronted the attacker, and he fled the scene.

PBSO released a sketch of the suspect on Monday, along with the following description:

  • Approximately 25-29 years old
  • 6 feet tall
  • Thin build
  • Beard
  • Wearing a black hoodie and black jeans

The sheriff's office said this was a random assault and detectives are following up on leads.
