LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. -- The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) DUI Enforcement Unit will be conducting a Traffic/DUI Saturation Patrol on Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 6pm to 4am.

“Everyone has to be responsible. We train our waitstaff and bartenders to be very conscious of that. If anyone has had too much to drink we will call an Uber for them, but we try not to let it get to that point,” Brian McVan, owner of The Rock Irish Pub.

PBSO will conduct high profile visible enforcement of all traffic violations, with an emphasis on removing impaired drivers.

The patrols will take place on different main roadways in Palm Beach County, concentrating on the city of Lake Worth Beach.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, people in the United States die in drunk-driving crashes every day. These deaths have fallen by a third in the last three decades; however, drunk-driving crashes claim more than 10,000 lives per year.

Law enforcement agencies across the country will continue to step up patrols to get impaired drivers off the roads through the New Year.
