LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. — The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office has determined that a suspicious package found on Lake Worth Beach Thursday morning was not dangerous.
PBSO said a man found a box with the word "dynamite" on it and carried it two miles to a lifeguard stand. A lifeguard then called 911.
Deputies responded and evacuated the area, including the Lake Worth Beach Pier, as PBSO's Bomb and Arson Unit investigated.
Crews eventually determined the box did not contain any dynamite.
The Lake Worth Beach Pier and surrounding area have been reopened, according to the sheriff's office.
