Firefighters were sent to Jack's Grumpy Grouper restaurant in Lantana early Monday morning following a report of smoke on the roof.
Once on the scene crews found heavy smoke inside the building.
They located the fire and put it out.
An investigator later said the damage has been estimated at $100,000.
The restaurant is located in the 300 block of North Dixie Highway and a section of the highway was closed to traffic for a time.
“It’s a good hangout for all our neighbors and friends. I have some friends that work there. It’s a shame, I hope it’s not damaged too much,” said one restaurant customer.
It's not clear if anyone was injured.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
