Suit: Girl sexually attacked in school bathroom

LOXAHATCHEE, Fla. (AP) -- A former student at a South Florida high school says she was sexually attacked in a school bathroom by another student, but the school never took any action against her attacker.

The Palm Beach Postreports that the unidentified former student filed a lawsuit Tuesday in federal court against the Palm Beach County School Board. She says officials at Loxahatchee's Seminole Ridge High School knew that her attacker had a history of sexual misconduct yet did little to prevent him from preying on her as she attempted to use a bathroom in May 2012.

The lawsuit says the girl was a 14-year-old freshman when an 18-year-old senior pushed her into a bathroom stall and tried to force her to perform oral sex.

A school district spokeswoman declined to comment on the lawsuit.
