A suburban West Palm Beach mother is sending a strong warning to all parents after she says a stranger tried to kidnap her young daughter from their yard.

"Keep an extra eye on them because it only takes a minute or two minutes," said Lee Sam, the mother of the little girl.

Deputies arrested their neighbor 62-year-old Jamal Ahmed and charged him with kidnapping.

The young girl said Ahmed grabbed her by the wrist while she was playing in front of her home Sunday morning.  She told detectives she was able to break away and escape.

"I was angry. I was upset." said Sam. "He had no business taking her out of her yard. No business at all. We didn't know him."

Investigators say they contacted Ahmed and while interviewing him saw a ski mask with holes cut out for the eyes and nose as well as a bag of condoms.

When asked why he had the ski mask his response was “it’s cold in St. Louis,” according to an arrest affidavit.

He was also asked about the condoms and said they were for prostitutes,” the affidavit states.

A deputy who interviewed Ahmed said he confessed to walking the child forcibly to his house against her will and stated numerous times that she is a prostitute and wanted sex.

He said he did not have sex with the child.

Detectives arrested Ahmed and charged him with kidnapping. He's being held without bail.
