PALM SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities say a man has been charged in connection with fatally shooting his girlfriend's father's two dogs and then burying them in the father's backyard.
The South Florida Sun Sentinelreports the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office arrested 19-year-old Kyle Santos Saturday.
An arrest report says Santos and his girlfriend were at the woman's father's West Delray home Jan. 12 when they decided to kill the two Chihuahuas.
Santos' girlfriend told deputies that Santos dug a hole in the backyard, placed the dogs inside and shot them.
Deputies say Santos' girlfriend told them she had initially agreed that Santos should shoot the dogs, but changed her mind after they put the dogs in the hole.
Santos is charged with animal cruelty. It isn't clear if he has an attorney.
