PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — A family in West Palm Beach is heartbroken this Christmas and making a desperate plea for the driver involved in a deadly hit and run to come forward.

"He was just here, I just talked to him," said Majorie Coley, as she held back tears while thinking of her brother-in-law, 53-year-old A.D. Coley.

Loved ones are still struggling to comprehend how Coley was tragically killed late Sunday night.

The crash happened at 10:38 p.m. in the 1000 block of N. Benoist Farms Road.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, a driver in a red vehicle turned into the path of a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle driven by Coley.

During the crash, the right front and side of Coley’s motorcycle hit the rear of the red car. As a result of the crash, Coley was ejected from his motorcycle as it overturned.

PBSO said the unknown driver of the red car fled the scene and failed to render aid to Coley, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

"He was a good lovely brother to me, he always came and hung out with me," said Larrie Coley, the victim’s older brother.

Larrie said A.D. was at his house on Sunday night, just moments before the crash.

"I think it’s cruel, I think it’s heartless for somebody just to take an innocent person’s life," Majorie Coley said. "You could have stopped halfway down the road and called 911 and say there’s a body down there."

Now on Christmas Eve, Coley's family is pleading for the other driver to do the right thing.

"I just want them to come forward and turn themselves in, whoever did it, maybe I might feel better, but right now I don’t," Larrie Coley said.

PBSO said they believe the other car is red with rear end damage to the bumper, tail light, and quarter panel.
