Kitzerow, who was selected in June for the job, said he and his team are ready for the first day of school.
A police officer or sheriff’s deputy will be stationed at every school in the district.
“We've been training for single-officer response, meaning if there is activity in the school, that officer by themselves is going to go down there and take care of the situation. I'm very confident," said Kitzerow.
Kitzerow said safety in schools is also dependent on parents and students and recommends families do a walk through getting to school or the bus stop before Monday morning.
