WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — It's a new year, and hospitals across Palm Beach County welcomed their first bundles of joy of 2021.

Hospital Public Relations manager Ryan Lieber said the first baby born in Palm Beach County was Mason Ackerman at West Boca Medical Center.

Mason came into the world at midnight, weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces. The baby is the first child for Brandon and Lee Ackerman of Boynton Beach.

The first baby of the new year born at St. Mary's Medical Center was Daphne Nicole Aguilar-Jiminez, weighing 5 pounds 15 ounces. Daphne was born at 12:24 a.m.

This is also the first child for Salvador Aguilar and Glendi Jiminez-Morales of West Palm Beach.

Lieber said the first child of 2021 born at Good Samaritan Medical Center was Caiden Clifford Seals weighing 8 pounds 1 ounce.

Caiden was born at 8:39 a.m. to his parents Glen and Amy Seals of Royal Palm Beach. This is their second child.

The first baby of the year born at Wellington Regional Medical Center was Aviyah Scarbrough, according to the hospital's director of marketing Allen Poston.

Weighing 5 pounds, 5 ounces, Aviyah was born at 1:20 a.m. to Raquel Wellington, her first child.
