PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — A Palm Beach County K-9 deputy has a new partner after his former K-9, Cigo, was shot and killed in the line of duty on Christmas Eve.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Foundation tweeted on Wednesday that Deputy Ryan Soriano will now work with K-9 Retu.

Deputies said 28-year-old Giovany Ramos Alvarez shot and killed Cigo outside the Mall at Wellington Green on Dec. 24 as the K-9 was trying to apprehend him.
Hundreds said a final farewell to Cigo at a public memorial service on Jan. 10.
The Sheriff's Foundation said it acquired K-9 Retu through a grant from Felicia Taylor and her family charity, the Mary Hilem Taylor Foundation.
