PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla.-- A ceremony Wednesday morning recognized the critical role PBSO communications officers play in keeping citizens and deputies safe.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office handles well over one million calls each year. It is a stressful job but can be a very rewarding one.
Dan Hall was recognized as Communications Officer of the Year and Kristin Crossen was named Communications Supervisor of the Year.
"Nobody ever grows up to say they wanna be a dispatcher so we need to get our name out there to let people know what a rewarding career this is," said Crossen.
Crossen has been with the sheriff's office since 2006. Hall has been working in communications since February 2017.
