Lots of shells dredged up in Palm Beach

Posted

PALM BEACH, Fla.- A beach re-nourishment project in the town of Palm Beach has turned into a sheller’s delight!

There’s a large pile of rocks, seashells and other interesting finds at Phipps Ocean Park off A1A.

As contractors dredge and pump sand onto the beach, they’re trapping large rocks and shells and setting them aside.

Dozens of people have been showing up each day to search the pile for souvenirs.

“I'm making new friends,” said Diane Fredrick, visiting from Canada. “We're finding all kinds of shells and coral and beach glass. It's amazing.”

You still have time to find your buried treasure. The Town plans to haul the pile away in a few months.
