Mega billonaire will need to find a mega mansion

Posted

If you're lucky enough to become next billionaire there's only one place to go if you want to live large: Palm Beach.

If you take a drive down "billionaire's row" in Palm Beach, you'll see what $1.5 billion will buy you, besides the view.

"Billionaire's row is part of the estate section, where you have bigger pieces of property, bigger homes," said Chris Deitz, senior sales associate of the Fite Group.

You could spend $45 million dollars for a place on the intracoastal, or live large and drop $75 million on a tropical lush pad with more than 20,000 square feet. Deitz said you could probably buy ten places with the cash lump sum of more than $900 million in winnings.

Just don't forget, a rough estimate of property taxes each year would work out close to $150,000 on a $75 million property.

If Palm Beach isn't your style, you can head south to Hillsboro.  There's a mansion listed at $159 million, complete with a skating rink, go cart track, night club, bowling alley, even an IMAX theater.

Don't forget, just because it isn't listed, doesn't mean it's not for sale! As the saying goes, make them an offer they can't refuse.
