WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Just hours after accepting appointments for qualified residents, the town of Palm Beach is no longer taking COVID-19 vaccine appointments.

Online registration opened Friday on a first-come, first-serve basis for residents 65 and older.

The town said about 200 vaccination appointments would be available Monday at the fire station at 2185 S. Ocean Blvd.

But all appointments were filled before noon.

"Our goal is to vaccinate as many people as fast as we can, but there is a supply issue," the town said on its website. "We know that there is a much higher demand for vaccines than we currently have in supply, so we will continue to submit requests to the county until every resident who would like to get vaccinated receive the COVID-19 vaccine."
