PALM BEACH, Fla. — Multiple law enforcement officers have responded to a multi-million dollar home on Palm Beach Monday morning where there appears to be a large pool of blood in the backyard.
Police said a group of suspected drug smugglers came ashore on the north end of the island around 6 a.m. in the area of Mockingbird Trail and North Ocean Boulevard.
Officers set up a perimeter and took three people into custody.
During that investigation, an officer working the perimeter heard shots fired nearby.
Police then responded to the 200 block of Bradley Place, where the located one person injured, according to authorities.
WPTV Chopper 5 flew over the scene around 9:30 a.m. and spotted several police cruisers parked around the home, yellow caution tape blocking off the property, and what appeared to be a pool of blood in the backyard next to the swimming pool.
According to the police department, there is no danger to the community, and the shots fired incident is not related to the apparent drug smuggling operation.
