PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. -- The honors keep coming for Park Vista High School.
Recently, student Faith Southwick became the first person in her school's history to be appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy.
She credited her math teacher Glen Marr for a lot of her success and nominated him for the Texas Instruments "Spread the Math Love" contest, and he won!
"I am extremely grateful to Mr. Marr for inspiring me and others the way he has, and I hope to inspire others in a similar way," Southwick said.
As part of the prize, Marr earned a trip for two to San Francisco. And while there, he gets admission to a math and science museum called the Exploratorium.
"I can't believe it, this is a dream come true, definitely the best day I've ever had as a teacher," Marr said in a statement. "The fact that she is going to be able to go to the U.S. Naval Academy and I was a small part of that, it's unbelievable."
