Authorities say a car struck and killed a pedestrian Tuesday night in suburban Lake Worth.

They say the collision happened just after 9 on Military Trail north of Todd Street.

A Honda Accord heading north on Military Trail struck the pedestrian who was trying to cross the roadway, according to investigators.

The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The investigation is still open.
