A pedestrian died Saturday night after walking into the path of a car, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
49-year-old Shannon Hardesty was crossing Okeechobee Boulevard just before 9 p.m. when a traffic investigator said she improperly stepped from the median in violation of traffic control devices.
The driver of a Honda Civic was heading east while a traffic light was green when the car hit Hardesty near Jog Road, the sheriff's office said.
She was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center where she later died from her injuries, according to PBSO.
