A house caught fire Thursday morning in Riviera Beach.
Video from Chopper 5 showed firefighters pouring water on the roof of the building.
The roof later collapsed as firefighters fought to extinguish the flames.
The fire began in the 1600 block of 15th Street, according to Riviera Beach Fire Rescue.
The family of the homeowner said no one was inside when the fire started.
“We currently have the fire under control and it’s going to take considerable salvage and overhaul to actually get the fire put out,” said Riviera Beach Fire Rescue Captain John Curd.
Rescue crews from West Palm Beach, Palm Beach County and Palm Beach Gardens are assisting Rivera Beach with firefighting efforts.
