A floating home that has been at the center of controversy is now taking on water.

The houseboat belongs to Fane Lozman, who wants to turn the 25 acres of land he owns into a floating home community. Lozman believes someone sunk his boat.

"This floating home made it through Andrew, Wilma. July 4th, we towed it 85 miles up from Miami," says Lozman.

More than a month ago Lozman towed his houseboat up to Riviera Beach. He is requesting the city council grant him an address. He also wants to turn the 25 acres he owns into a floating home community.

Many residents have concerns about his plans. They believe the boat sinking is a sign of things to come.

"An example of what's going to happen. The winds, the storms pick up through this lagoon. Things can happen. It's super shallow water. Estuary for birds," says Stuart Straley who lives in Riviera Beach.

Lozman plans to pump water and bring the boat to shore Monday night.
