According to the Riviera Beach Police Department, a neighbor heard two gunshots around midnight Tuesday, inside unit 3 at the five-unit apartment complex located at 1248 Surf Street on Singer Island. It’s where Holly Given, 26, and Travis Timilty, 27, lived.

Travis’s mom stopped by the apartment around 3 p.m. Wednesday after she couldn’t get ahold of either of them, she says. Travis didn’t show up for work, she says.

When she got to the door, she saw the couple’s German shepherd, Remy, pacing back and forth near a bathroom, next to a pool of blood. She called police.

Around 3:30 p.m. police found their bodies.

They say Travis shot Holly before turning the gun on himself.

The young couple made their relationship Facebook official on October 20, according to Holly’s Facebook account.

Crystal Berrios lived next door to them.

“My heart bleeds for his mom. I have a child. I can’t even imagine walking into something like that. That’s got to be the most tragic thing a grieving mother could ever deal with,” she said.

Travis’s mom, Lisa Martinez, said they met at work, and Holly moved in with him.

She said the two had known each other for over a year.

“It’s just really disheartening what’s going on. It’s two really young lives,” Crystal said.

Riviera Beach police say they have no record of domestic violence calls between the couple and haven’t said what motivated this tragedy.

Travis’s parents say they are “heartbroken” and feel like they “are in a bad dream that they haven’t woken up from.”

They say Holly’s parents don’t live locally but will be here Thursday.
