RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. — The city of Riviera Beach is now accepting applications for its Smart Home Tool Kit Program. This is an opportunity for local residents to receive free security accessories for their home.

The kit is complete with several items to help keep homeowners and their property safe, such as a Ring Doorbell camera, motion censored lights for outside, and a smoke detector.

There's also a unique crime fighting tool. It's called smart water, a high-tech traceable liquid that can help police track down your valuables in the event they are stolen.

Once approved for the program, the city will come out and install each item free of charge.

"Well this program was started to help to change the perception of Riviera Beach and also to help keep our city safe and to bring more cohesiveness in our neighborhoods," said Neimah Spence, operations manager of the city's Clean and Safe Program

In order to receive a kit, residents must own a smartphone, have internet service, live in the CRA's targeted area and be willing to join neighborhood watch program.
