DANIA BEACH, Fla. — A big congratulations to students at Inlet Grove Community High School in Riviera Beach for winning the "Plywood Regatta" in Dania Beach over the weekend.
The objective of the competition is to "introduce young marine enthusiasts and the community to the craft of boat building and the excitement of recreational boating."
Students design, build and race a sea-worthy vessel and paddles in only two days using limited materials.
The students received three pieces of plywood, 100 zip ties, a few pieces of wood and some paint.
Marine Technology students at Inlet Grove took home the big trophy!
