RIVIERA BEACH, Fla.-- Santa came early for a group of 80 kids in Riviera Beach Friday morning.
Jackson's Daycare Center held its annual Santa Meet and Greet fundraiser.
The school keeps tuition costs low for families, so the money raised will be used to playground equipment and other needs at the school.
Santa Claus himself is a former student of the daycare and wanted to give back to the kids.
School leaders say it’s also important to promote diversity among people of color this holiday season.
“You know…the kids can see themselves in Santa," said Shawana Schrouder with Jackson's Daycare. “We decided to offer that here for our students and for our parents as well.”
“When Santa was a little Santa…Santa went to this daycare," said Santa Claus Anthony Ashe. “It inspires the kids to continue to take school seriously. If Santa can come down to the school, so can the kids.”
Jackson’s Daycare Center has served Riviera Beach for nearly 40 years.
