As of Thursday morning, flights departing Palm Beach International Airport are on time and heading to airports in the path of Hurricane Florence.
An American Airlines flight departed PBIA for Charlotte at 6:15 a.m. Many of those passengers said they were heading to Charlotte for a connecting flight and hoping not to get stuck in the Carolinas.
“I hope to escape the hurricane this morning since it’s not supposed to come in until this afternoon. I think I’ll arrive in Charlotte early and make my connecting flight,” said traveler Mario Mencia, who is heading to Houston.
Charlotte’s airport is still open Thursday.
As of 7:51 a.m., there are no delays for flights to and from Charlotte. American Airlines Flight 1786 is scheduled to arriving at PBIA at 9:11 a.m.
