A day after a Tri-Rail train crashed into a garbage truck in Lake Worth, service is expected to be back to normal Tuesday.

Following the crash, there was no train service between Boynton Beach and Lake Worth much of Monday. Commuters had to take a bus bridge to reach those locations.

Interstate 95 ramps to 6th Ave South in Lake Worth are back open.  Also, travel east and westbound over the train tracks are back open.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said the truck broke down on the tracks, but the driver was able to jump out before impact.

The train hit the truck, pushing it about 100 yards and causing a derailment.

Twenty-two people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash caused damage to the train, tracks, signals and the garbage truck that was hit on the tracks.
