Members of the community gathered Tuesday morning in Wellington honor the lives lost 17 years ago on Sept. 11, 2001.
The ceremony was held at the Patriot Memorial located on Forest Hill Boulevard next to Village Hall.
The Village Council gave remarks and laid a wreath for those impacted by the attacks.
Wellington dedicated its Patriot Memorial seven years ago on the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
The memorial includes one of the largest steel beams salvaged from the World Trade Center as well as an eternal flame, fountain and etched glass panels inscribed with the names of the victims.
