"Free Ride Sundays" is now being offered in Wellington to make the roads safer.
Romain Marteau is the person spearheading the project.
Sunday nights are popular nights for partying in Wellington after polo and other equestrian sports are done with, Romain says.
He says many people who celebrate after the equestrian events either drive home or walk from local bars and restaurants.
To help combat the problem, Romain is getting funds to bring in cars and vans to take people to local bars and take them home safely when the night is over.
"In other areas, like New York City where I usually live, we have subways and cabs all night long. In Wellington, if it's a little late at night you don't have services so you can either walk or drive and obviously we don't want people to drive so we're offering this service."
Romain says the service will pick you up at your home and take you to the local hot spots, and take you right back home afterwards.
The service will be offered throughout the equestrian season.
