WELLINGTON, Fla. -- The football coach for Lake Worth Community High School, Jessie Lee Hester, was arrested and charged with Simple Battery (Domestic) on Saturday.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says a Deputy was called to Hester's residence in Wellington at 4:48 a.m. on Saturday, where they spoke with Hester's wife, Gerlienus.

According to PBSO, she told Deputies that Jessie was arguing and yelling at her when she arrived home from a night out at a concert.

Gerlienus said that her husband got in her face yelling at her, shoved her backwards onto the bed, put his forearm onto her neck area, held her down and threatened to kill her, "if you ever disrespect this house again."

Gerlienus said she was in fear for her safety and called 911.

The Deputy observed that her neck area appeared "a little red but no visible injuries that would require medical treatment," according to an affidavit.

Hester became the Athletic Director for Lake Worth Community High School in the spring of 2012.  In December 2012 he was named football coach.

Hester was back at school today. The Palm Beach County School District says this is a personal matter for the coach and they have no comment.
