WELLINGTON, Fla. — Nordstrom is closing its store inside the Mall at Wellington Green, the company confirms to WPTV.

A location is also closing in Norfolk, Virginia. The stores will officially shut their doors on Friday, April 5, the company said.

Jamie Nordstrom, the President of Nordstrom stores, released this statement on Wednesday:

"We keep a close eye on the long-term performance of our stores, real estate agreements and the future needs of our business. We look at our business market-by-market to understand where we have opportunities to grow while also being as efficient as possible in serving our customers. Looking at the needs in these markets and the investments needed to sustain these stores, we decided it made the most sense to close these stores and focus on other ways we can best serve our customers, including nearby Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack stores as well as online."

The company said the closing in Wellington will impact approximately 65 non-seasonal employees.

There are other Nordstrom locations at The Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens and the Town Center at Boca Raton.

There are Nordstrom Rack stores at the Palm Beach Outlets in West Palm Beach and University Commons in Boca Raton.
