It's been nearly one year since Corey Jones's death. Jones was shot and killed by officer Nouman Raja after his car broke down on I-95.
A grand jury indicted Raja earlier this year.
Saturday night the Jones family held their second annual keep the beat alive festival.
To this day, family and friends are still struggling with the loss.
While the event is about honoring Corey, it's also about uniting the community to make real change happen through music and love.
Jones's brother CJ says they are spreading that message for other families across the nation.
"Our job as family and supporters is to keep the beat alive for other people going through the same thing that's the main objective so to bring some beautification and seek change," says Jones.
The benefit goes until midnight Saturday.
