WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — As 2019 begins, more changes could be coming to downtown West Palm Beach.

"There's new buildings everywhere you turn around,” says Jeff Clements who lives downtown.

Construction cranes only hint at what’s happening.

According to the mayor, the city of West Palm Beach has close to $4 billion in projects in the pipeline with about 40 projects under construction or about to begin and another 20 under review.

"I’ve often said that a city that's not growing and changing is a city that's dying,” says Mayor Jeri Muoio.

The tallest development is a pair of 30 story towers that just broke ground north of the county courthouse downtown

Mayor Muoio says the city is looking to cap buildings at 30 stories and is putting a priority on attracting more office space.
