The life of a woman killed in a boating accident in Manalapan was honored by her loved ones on Sunday.
Martha Spencer honored her partner Karen Roberts by collecting and donating dog and cat food to the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League Saturday.
Spencer says the couple took special interest in animals and would do this during the holidays.
Since Roberts died though from a boating accident, Martha has done it on her own. This year she brought along her friends who say they would do anything for one another.
“Martha's been a full force in our community and she's been giving back ever since we lost Karen and I think during the holiday season we should honor Karen and celebrate the great work of Peggy Adams." Julie Seaver said.
“They all knew Karen, she was a lovely woman,” Spencer said. “She’d give the shirt off her back and we’re strong people; when one goes down, the other picks one back up.”
Peggy Adams says they are always in need of food. To donate visit them off Military Trail in West Palm Beach.
