PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. -- A group helping human trafficking victims says there's a need to educate parents about the problem.

Catch The Wave Of Hope has warned that human traffickers are texting teens about summer jobs and using them to trap youngsters.

Wave of Hope founder Lynne Barletta is hosting a free seminar Saturday, July 21, in downtown West Palm Beach for parents and their teens.

"We will be teaching you what's happening in this area right here. The arrests that have been made, the rings that have been busted and how traffickers are targeting your child," Barletta said.

Parents like Fawn Babcock say they will be there: "I think any chance parents can have to educate themselves on things that we might not have the knowledge to protect our kids, we need to be informed."

The free seminar will take place Saturdayat 2 p.m. at the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach on the 3rd floor.
