Attorneys for a 12-year-old boy charged with killing a 4-month-old infant in West Palm Beach were back in court Friday.
Investigators said the boy confessed to smothering the baby Dec. 12, 2015 with a pillow because the baby wouldn't stop crying.
A judge ruled last week the boy can go home but placed him under home detention.
The court is still deciding if the boy will be charged as an adult. The state has 21 days to decide whether to charge him as an adult.
The next court date in the case is set for Sept. 6.
