WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Crowds gathered at "Jack the Bike Man" bicycle shop in West Palm Beach on Sunday for their annual bicycle giveaway.
Each child at the event got a personal helper to assist them in finding their perfect bicycle.
Organizers say this is a way to help underprivileged families receive something special for the holidays.
Owner Jack Hairston, a.k.a. "Jack the Bike Man", said, "I want people that are down and out to know there's a decent human being in the world that cares about them."
The shop says over 1,500 bicycles were handed out during the event as well as free helmets.
Santa Claus made an appearance at the event, greeting families as they received their bikes.
