The jury foreman in the Nouman Raja trial has issued a statement after the panel he was on found the former Palm Beach Gardens officer guilty of manslaughter and attempted murder in the shooting death of Corey Jones.

In a Facebook post, Randal Martin identified himself as the jury foreman. He posted this statement:

"The jurors and alternates in this case worked very hard and served honorably, listening diligently to the facts and the evidence and doing our very best to apply the law fairly and justly. Today, my heart breaks for both the Jones and Raja families. They have suffered greatly because of that terrible night, and I pray that God would bless and comfort them.

I also respectfully ask for privacy for all of the members of the jury. We are private citizens who were compelled to serve and now wish to return to our families and careers without further public scrutiny."
