The immediate family of Corey Jones shared their thoughts Thursday regarding the arrest of former Palm Beach Gardens police officer Nouman Raja.
During a 11:30 a.m. news conference, they acknowledged that the phone conversation and recording that Jones had with roadside assistance was pivotal in charges being filed.
Attorney Benjamin Crump said, "Thank God for that audio. When you look at all the evidence, it's overwhelming."
Crump also thanked the grand jury for their decision to file charges in the case.
Corey Jones' brother, C.J. Jones, said the decision to file charges against Raja was a "victory for good cops."
Family members reiterated they want more than just a charge in the case but a conviction.
"This proves real-time recording is an important issue," said Attorney Daryl Parks.
