WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Mark Cohen is using different painting techniques.
He's putting the final touches to his artwork on display at the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach.
He's capturing what first responders face during the pandemic -- putting their lives at risk.
"Not only themselves but at the end of the day when they could go home, they could be taking COVID home to their wives and children and grandparents. It's just insanity, all about wearing a mask," he said.
He has his favorite paintings among the almost half dozen on display. "One that's titled Sophie is a student of my daughter who works a double shift at two hospitals in Philadelphia in ICU," he said.
The exhibition of paintings titled "We're All Wearing Masks Now" will open to the public on Friday.
Visitors will see Cohen's story when the pandemic started to now.
Tom Pearson is the Armory Art Center Executive Director. He said, "We need to pay homage to those people that are putting their lives on the line and helping our community. And this was a way for the armory to in a way give back to our community and salute those people who are working so hard for us."
Cohen worked with hospitals during the 40 years he owned an advertising company. Now he's an artist paying tribute to first responders.
