WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The West Palm Beach police department says a man's body was located in a canal along the 2200 block of 45th Street on Saturday morning.
Officers responded to the scene at 10:50 a.m.
The West Palm Beach police dive team was called to recover the body and evidence associated with it.
According to police, he is described as an elderly man with some gray hair.
Investigators believe that the man was in the water for a couple of days, which makes it difficult to identify his race.
They say he was wearing multiple layers of clothing, a rope used as a belt, and brown work boots.
The man's clothing lead police to believe that he was homeless. At this time, foul play is not suspected.
Anyone with information regarding his identity is asked to contact West Palm Beach police at 561-822-1900.
